Going carbon neutral by 2013
In 2009 Dandy’s made a promise to offset our carbon emissions completely, becoming totally carbon neutral within five years.
Since making this promise we have been working hard to replace any older, less environmentally machines, gizmos and gadgets with the latest, most innovative, environmentally friendly technology available. This has included everything from replacing light bulbs with LEDs to purchasing 100% electric, zero emission vehicles.
The new electric cars have replaced the two Dandy’s Mini Coopers and mark the start of phase two of the company’s plans to update their fleet of vehicles.
The cars charge from empty to full in around four hours at a cost of around £1.50 and are tax free; on a full charge they will manage a range of up to 90 miles.
As eco friendly, zero emission cars these additions to the fleet offer the most innovative, carbon neutral vehicle solutions available today.
Dandy’s is hoping to power the three pin sockets which the cars are charged on off a solar power or wind turbine. If this project turns out to be successful then the company hope to begin the next phase of the plan which will be the introduction of solar panels or wind turbines to power the entire site; offices, machines and production warehouse.
As the company gets closer to it’s goal of being carbon neutral we’ll keep this page updated with all of the latest endeavours to offset our carbon emissions so keep checking back for the latest information!
